Project Manager Civil

You will lead the delivery of civil and structural elements of water and wastewater infrastructure projects within a live pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. Projects will range from detailed design through construction, commissioning support and final handover in a regulated GMP environment.

You will be responsible for managing all civil engineering aspects including earthworks, reinforced concrete structures, underground services, drainage networks, pipework corridors, buildings and associated infrastructure. The role includes full lifecycle project delivery, commercial management, contractor coordination, and strict compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and regulatory requirements applicable to pharmaceutical facilities.

• Deliver one or more civil infrastructure projects concurrently, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  
• Lead and coordinate all civil works including:
  
• Reinforced concrete structures (tanks, bunds, slabs, chambers)
  
• Underground utilities and drainage systems
  
• Pipe networks and ducting infrastructure
  
• Roadways, hardstanding and site development works
  
• Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, particularly the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
  
• Promote and embed a proactive safety culture across all civil contractors and subcontractors.
  
• Fulfil PSDP coordination duties with designers and act as PSCS for civil works on live sites within your remit.
  
• Conduct regular site inspections, chair civil coordination meetings and lead toolbox talks.
  
• Manage programme delivery using Microsoft Project, maintaining baseline programmes and progress updates.
  
• Monitor commercial performance of civil packages including procurement, subcontract management, variations and final accounts.
  
• Manage project cashflow and support interim payment applications.
  
• Coordinate closely with MEICA, process and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of civil infrastructure with mechanical and electrical systems.
  
• Identify and mitigate project risks while optimising cost, schedule and quality outcomes.
  
• Provide monthly reporting to senior management covering programme status, commercial performance and HSQE metrics.
  
• Support tender submissions and pre-construction planning for civil scopes.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Civil Project Management role, ideally within water and wastewater infrastructure.
  
• Strong experience delivering concrete structures, buried services, drainage systems and pipeline installations.
  
• Proven experience working on construction sites within regulated or high-compliance environments (pharma experience advantageous).
  
• Strong working knowledge of Construction Regulations 2013 and PSDP/PSCS responsibilities.
  
• Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  
• Strong commercial acumen including subcontract negotiations and final account agreements.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
  
• Experience implementing Lean Construction and Last Planner methodologies (desirable). xcfaprz
