Travel Component: Project Managers are expected to travel regularly to job sites, client meetings, and vendor locations. Travel is typically 1–3 days per week but may vary based on project needs. Some weeks may require no travel, while others may require more.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with the Senior Project Manager to evaluate and develop project scopes based on bid/construction drawings, customer specifications, site photos, and on-site meetings.
• Attend pre-construction meetings with clients, engineers, and internal stakeholders to align on scope, expectations, and scheduling.
• Analyze plans to determine required subcontractors and provide detailed take-offs for equipment and materials.
• Develop comprehensive scope of work documents to effectively communicate project specifics to stakeholders, including subcontractors and customers.
• Solicit and review subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure alignment with scope and project goals.
• Create detailed project budgets and schedules to support bid development and internal planning.
• Prepare and submit RFIs to clarify bid documents with architects, engineers, and owners.
• Implement value engineering strategies to optimize cost savings and constructability without sacrificing quality.
• Review contracts and purchase orders to confirm accuracy and compliance before project kickoff.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the project
• Conduct regular site visits and coordination meetings to track progress, resolve conflicts, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with Site Superintendents and Field Managers to resolve issues promptly and maintain forward momentum.
• Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, and material selections.
• Track and manage project costs, change orders, and invoicing to ensure financial goals are met.
• Oversee punch list completion, final inspections, and customer sign-off.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to obtain closeout documentation, warranties, O&M manuals, and as-builts.
• Conduct project debriefs with internal teams to identify lessons learned and process improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.
ROLE REQUIRMENTS:
Education:
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Construction Management, Communication, or similar field preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of general project management experience, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills in various project environments.
• Experience in managing commercial construction projects, overseeing all phases from planning to execution.
Skills & Competencies:
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate smooth project execution and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Expertise in identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation strategies to minimize impacts on timelines and budgets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and mathematical skills.
• Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Self-motivated while being an effective team member.
• Strong work ethic and dependability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Project.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
