Electrical Estimator and Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator and Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position is responsible for accurately estimating electrical projects and managing them from inception through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, project budgeting, construction processes, and the ability to lead and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating:

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed and competitive electrical estimates.
• Conduct site visits as necessary to understand project scope and constraints.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work.
• Solicit and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit bid packages and RFP responses within deadlines.

Project Management:

• Oversee all phases of electrical construction projects from planning to close-out.
• Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Monitor project progress, manage changes, and ensure quality standards are met.
• Manage project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and close-out packages.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, safety standards, and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrical estimator and/or project manager in the commercial construction industry. Public works experience required.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
• Strong understanding of NEC codes and local building regulations.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
• Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician (optional but preferred).
