Prime UI Platform Team , you will be integral to the core systems that underpin every frontend experience for Coinbase Prime. This includes shared frontend frameworks, resource optimization for performance and reliability, developer tooling, and backend-for-frontend APIs that enhance the user interface. In this role, you will lead technical architecture decisions that empower frontend teams to create fast and responsive UIs while ensuring our frontend systems scale securely and effectively. You will focus on optimizing real-time data streams and enhancing the UI experience for accessing market data and portfolio balances. You will also develop tools that allow product teams to operate swiftly and release frequently and reliably. Your responsibilities will include: Designing, developing, and managing core UI platform systems used by all frontend surfaces. Enhancing reliability, performance, and latency at the platform level. Building and refining backend-for-frontend APIs (REST/GraphQL) with an emphasis on scalability, security, and clean design. Leading the architecture and strategies for optimizing real-time data streams (WebSocket/SSE). Collaborating closely with frontend engineers and product teams to identify and alleviate pain points, translating them into actionable platform solutions. Acting as a technical multiplier: unblocking teams, reviewing impactful changes, and mentoring engineers across frontend and product teams. Boosting developer efficiency by enhancing local development environments, CI/CD processes, testing, release pipelines, and observability. What we’re looking for: 8+ years of experience in software engineering. A track record of developing architectural solutions for complex problems with significant impact. A deep passion for building an open financial system that connects the world. Additional qualifications that would be beneficial: Experience navigating rapid growth phases within a company (from small teams to hundreds of engineers). Familiarity with blockchain technologies (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.). Experience in breaking down a large monolith into microservices. Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, and Postgres. Background in developing financial systems with a focus on high reliability or security. Job #: P75560 Pay Transparency Notice:
The target annual *base salary for this position varies based on your work location and falls within the range of $218,025 - $256,500 USD. Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
