This role focuses on the planning, coordination, and on-site execution of MEP and utilities projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
The position involves full lifecycle involvement including scope development, design coordination, contractor management, construction oversight, commissioning, and handover.
A strong understanding of live operational constraints, brownfield works, and safe execution within active facilities is essential.
Key Responsibilities Project & Site Delivery Lead the delivery of building services and MEP works within a live manufacturing facility.
Manage brownfield installations, service tie-ins, shutdown activities, and phased construction programmes.
Coordinate and supervise contractors and specialist subcontractors on site.
Develop detailed execution plans that account for operational continuity and production constraints.
Monitor daily site activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and programme requirements.
Chair coordination meetings and interface closely with operations and maintenance teams.
Ensure effective isolation planning, permit-to-work compliance, and risk mitigation in live environments.
Track progress against programme and budget, escalating risks where required.
Engineering & Technical Coordination Coordinate design activities across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, utilities, and associated building fabric works.
Review and approve technical submittals, drawings, method statements, and commissioning documentation.
Ensure all building services installations comply with relevant regulations, codes, and site standards.
Provide technical input into project scopes, tender packages, and contractor selection.
Participate in constructability reviews to ensure designs are practical for installation within a live facility.
Typical Scope of Works HVAC systems and ductwork installations Chilled water, LPHW, steam and compressed air systems Process and site utilities infrastructure upgrades Electrical distribution systems and containment Lighting, small power and control installations Fire detection and protection systems Drainage and plumbing systems Plantroom refurbishments and infrastructure upgrades Internal reconfiguration and associated services modifications Commissioning & Handover Support and coordinate commissioning activities across mechanical and electrical systems.
Ensure systems are installed, tested, and balanced in line with design intent.
Assist with integrated system testing and operational readiness activities.
Review and manage contractor completion documentation, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings.
Support smooth handover to operations and maintenance teams.
Skills & Experience Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Strong experience delivering MEP or building services works within live manufacturing, industrial, or regulated environments.
Proven ability to manage contractors and coordinate works in brownfield settings.
Experience working under permit-to-work systems and strict site safety controls.
Solid technical knowledge of HVAC, utilities, and electrical distribution systems.
Experience tracking project progress, managing risks, and supporting cost control.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to interface with operations and maintenance teams. xcfaprz
