Location: UCHealth Anschutz Outpt Pavilion, US:CO:Aurora Department: Transplant Hepatology Admin Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Day and Night Rotation Pay: $40.86 - $63.33 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience Summary: Responsible for managing the allocation and distribution of donated organs to transplant candidates in accordance with national regulations and ethical guidelines. Provides nursing care for post-transplant, living donors, auto-transplant and non-transplant hepatology surgical patients after hours. Responsibilities:
  • 24/7 program coverage to evaluate organ offers through dedicated systems and determine suitability based on medical urgency, compatibility and transplant center criteria.
  • Assess and analyze donor clinical data, including serology, labs and medical history and present to transplant providers. Triages patient issues and facilitates coordination of care as directed by providers or per protocol.
  • Serves as a primary liaison between OPOs, organ care system team members, transplant teams, and recipient care teams to facilitate organ acceptance, recovery and transplant. Coordinate the transportation logistics of organs and surgical teams as well as recipient admission and surgery scheduling.
  • Provides program regulatory support for timely waitlist removals and serves as the safety contact for potential disease transmission. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program. Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant certification as determined at position level. Minimum Experience: 2 years of critical care or organ transplant experience.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
