Design Engineer – Steel Fabrication & Structural Design - Professional English needed

Location: IRELAND| Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Reporting to the Commercial & Technical Manager, the Design Engineer will support growth by bridging R&D, Estimating & Technical, Production, and Pre-Production departments. You will be responsible for structural design, analysis, and project coordination while ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

• Support R&D and Estimating & Technical teams to ensure production requirements are met.
  
• Perform structural design and analysis for steel fabrication projects.
  
• Prepare and analyse data for structural detailing and material assessment.
  
• Ensure all designs comply with Eurocodes, BS standards, and Building Control Regulations.
  
• Produce and review project drawings, supporting the Drawing Office Manager for QA targets.
  
• Act as a specialist designer and certify work as required.
  
• Liaise with clients, consultants, internal teams, contractors, and local authorities.
  
• Ensure designs are optimal, cost-effective, and of the highest quality.
  
• Participate in Lean initiatives and uphold lean manufacturing principles.
  
• Knowledge of concrete design, concrete-steel interfaces, and anchoring systems advantageous.
  
• Experience with other materials: aluminium, stainless steel, glass, masonry.
  
• Familiarity with anchor technology for concrete/masonry.
  
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis – SCIA Engineer or IdeaStatica advantageous.
  
• BIM experience – Tekla Structures advantageous.
  
• Proficiency in MS Office and Project Management IT systems.
  
• Knowledge of CE Marking (EN1090), ISO9001, and Lean Manufacturing beneficial.
  
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Ability to multi-task, manage projects efficiently, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. xcfaprz
