Accounting Technician

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-renowned chartered accountancy firm with over 30 years of experience providing professional services to a diverse client base. The firm is highly respected in the industry, with clients ranging from sole traders and SMEs to larger businesses across multiple sectors.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Accounting Technician to support the delivery of client services within a busy Accounts Department. This is a permanent, full-time position offering flexibility, hybrid options, and excellent exposure to a wide variety of client industries.

• Prepare working papers and financial statements in line with standards.
• Prepare management accounts for clients (quarterly/6 monthly).
• Complete and file VAT, VAT RTD, and RCT returns.
• Prepare draft year-end files.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Manage and resolve client queries effectively.
• Work independently or as part of a team to drive projects forward.
• Support other ad hoc tasks as required.

• 3+ years’ experience in a busy accountancy practice.
• Qualified Accounting Technician or IPASS certification.
• Strong technical knowledge of VAT, RCT, and compliance processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel – intermediate+), Sage Accounts, and Accounts Production software (CCH or similar).
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.
