Remote Work Notice This position is fully remote for candidates within the United States. We are looking for a dedicated Software Engineer with experience to join us in designing, developing, and maintaining our primary analytics products. Your focus will be on WarehousePG (WHPG), Postgres Analytics Accelerator (PGAA), various extensions, migration tools, monitoring systems, and optimizing performance for the PostgreSQL ecosystem. Your Responsibilities: Design and develop essential PostgreSQL database features and tools.
Conduct code reviews and provide thoughtful feedback to enhance team contributions.
Author and maintain regression tests for feature enhancements and bug fixes.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to databases, networks, and software.
Collaborate within CI/CD pipelines for efficient integration and deployment.
Your Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of experience in database development with a strong grasp of database principles.
Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: C, Rust, C++, or Go.
Strong foundation in computer science including algorithms, OS internals, and data structures.
Experience with Linux-based software development and debugging.
Expertise in optimizing database system performance.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities, especially in diagnosing database and system issues.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
What Sets You Apart: Familiarity with distributed databases and MPP systems (e.g., Greenplum) and analytical engines (e.g., Spark, DataFusion, DuckDB).
Experience working with distributed query optimizers (e.g., Orca).
Understanding of PostgreSQL internals.
Knowledge in machine learning libraries and techniques.
Experience with GitHub Actions workflows.
Prior contributions to open-source database projects are highly valued.
