Job Description This is a high‑profile position. It involves working closely with Partners and senior personnel within Grant Thornton Ireland and our international network, as well as key finance people in publicly listed and multinational environments.


Responsibilities

  • Proficient accountant with strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience working in multinational and practice settings.
  • International experience in accounting, financial reporting and/or supporting auditing across EMEA, APAC and Americas.
  • Preparation of financial statements in IFRS, UK & Irish GAAP (experience in other jurisdictions is an advantage).
  • Maintain and develop key client relationships.
  • Support proposal and business development, preparing budgets and liaising with international offices and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to Grant Thornton international community through internal committees and project work.
  • Design and implementation of project plans, delegating tasks to junior members and providing appropriate coaching.
  • Ensure completion of assignments within budget and timeframe.
  • Self‑motivated teamwork and team management on assignment.
  • Develop and mentor staff.
  • Working knowledge of ONESOURCE and/or Caseware for accounts preparation (desirable).
  • Experience with electronic auditing packages is an advantage.
  • Strong communicator with excellent report writing and Excel skills.
  • Commercial / business awareness and passion for client service.
  • Genuine interest in IFRS and financial reporting, with ability to learn quickly and stay current with developments.

Qualifications

  • Recognised accounting qualification.
  • Audit background is an advantage.
  • Experience in a top 20 practice or multinational reporting environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years practical experience (PQE) in auditing or preparing financial statements.
  • Strong people and project management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, UK & Irish GAAP; familiarity with other GAAPs (German, French, Spanish) is a benefit but not essential.
