EPS is seeking a proactive and experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Operational Supervisor to lead a dedicated team of operators, craftspeople and operational scientists across multiple wastewater treatment facilities in the West Cork region. This role is central to ensuring the smooth, compliant and efficient operation of our treatment plants. You'll play a key part in delivering high‑quality service to our clients while supporting a strong, collaborative team culture. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a multi‑skilled operational team, ensuring effective coordination of activities across treatment plants and pumping stations.
  • Manage daily operational, maintenance and process requirements, delivering safe, compliant and cost‑effective performance.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are met, delivering positive outcomes for both EPS and our clients.
  • Oversee process monitoring and reporting, ensuring all O&M contracts achieve compliance and financial efficiency.
  • Provide clear guidance and direction to operational staff, especially during on‑call, standby and weekend periods.
  • Support and mentor team members, fostering a positive working environment and encouraging continuous improvement.
  • Arrange operational cover during periods of leave, training or absence.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors, assisting the operational team when required.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, clients and statutory bodies through professional communication.

  • Excellent time management, with the ability to prioritise and adapt.
  • Computer literacy, including basic spreadsheets and reporting tools.
  • Analytical, problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • A willingness to learn, grow, and develop within the water and wastewater industry.

Qualifications

  • A degree‑level qualification is required; an engineering or science background is an advantage.
  • A full clean driving licence is essential, as the role requires timely access to local sites.
  • Candidates should be based within the region.
