Purchasing Manager

Sigmar are partnering with a well-established and growing food manufacturing business to recruit a Purchasing Manager. This is a key hire for the organisation, responsible for leading procurement activities across raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and indirect spend within a fast-paced production environment.

This role will suit a commercially driven procurement professional with strong supplier negotiation experience and a solid understanding of food manufacturing operations.

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with production and business growth plans
  
• Source and negotiate contracts for raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and indirect spend
  
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure cost competitiveness, service reliability, and quality standards
  
• Monitor commodity markets and manage supply risk
  
• Drive cost-saving and value engineering initiatives
  
• Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Quality, and Finance teams
  
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards (BRC, HACCP, etc.)
  
• Optimise inventory levels and support working capital targetsOversee purchase order processes and ERP system accuracy
  
• Manage supplier performance through KPIs and continuous improvement
  

• 
  
• 5+ years’ xcfaprz procurement or purchasing experience within food manufacturing or FMCG
  
• Strong negotiation experience with ingredient and packaging suppliers
  
• Experience managing supply continuity in a high-volume production environment
  
• Strong commercial and analytical capability
  
• Knowledge of food safety and quality standards
  
• CIPS qualification or relevant third-level degree is advantageous.
