Automation Technician

Overview

Our client -- an established automotive manufacturer located just North of London -- is looking to add an Automation Technician to fill a current vacancy on their Maintenance Team. This person will be responsible for troubleshooting and improving efficiencies for the plant's automated control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robots. Responsibilities:

• Program and edit automated control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robots
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment
• Maintain end-of-arm tooling and other automated mechanical systems
• Troubleshoot networking, communications, and function errors
• Refurbish and upgrade equipment
• Improve equipment and production efficiencies
• Maintain documentation, including electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
• Integrate systems into production processes
• Support training and knowledge transfer for Operators, Technicians, and Maintenance personnel

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as an Automation Technician in a manufacturing environment
• Completion of a postsecondary program in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering-related discipline
• Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical
• Direct experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Fanuc & ABB robots is an asset
