About the Role The SEO Specialist plays a critical role in growing the firms online visibility, organic traffic, and client leads through strategic search engine optimization. This individual will manage all SEO initiatives across the firms digital channels, ensuring alignment with the firms marketing objectives, brand standards, and California State Bar advertising guidelines. This is a data-driven, hands-on position ideal for a results-oriented marketing professional with strong technical skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for helping people find justice through our firms online presence. Responsibilities SEO Strategy & Execution Develop and manage comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with J&Y Laws marketing and intake goals. Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, and identify new opportunities to capture high-value personal injury and elder abuse leads. Manage on-page and off-page SEO, including metadata, schema markup, internal linking, and backlink strategies. Regularly perform SEO audits to identify and resolve issues impacting performance, including site structure, crawlability, and page speed. Optimize and monitor all Google Business Profiles, directories, and local listings for each firm office location. Content Optimization & Collaboration Partner with the content, design, and intake marketing teams to ensure all website content (blogs, service pages, FAQs) is optimized for search intent and client engagement. Develop keyword frameworks and optimization briefs for legal writers and digital vendors. Support content campaigns for high-value practice areas such as auto accidents, elder abuse, premises liability, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death. Ensure compliance with California State Bar advertising rules and brand guidelines in all SEO content. Data, Analytics, & Reporting Track, analyze, and report on SEO metrics, including keyword rankings, traffic, conversions, and domain authority. Prepare monthly performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations. Utilize analytics platforms such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Search Console, Tag Manager, Ahrefs, and SEMrush. Monitor site performance, conversion funnels, and user experience for continual improvement. Technical SEO Collaborate with web developers to implement technical improvements such as schema, redirect management, site speed optimization, and mobile-first indexing. Maintain and enhance website architecture for optimal crawling and indexing. Stay current with algorithm updates, emerging SEO technologies, and industry best practices. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 35 years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in legal, healthcare, or professional services. Demonstrated success improving organic rankings and conversions in competitive markets. Proficiency with WordPress, GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, or equivalent tools. Strong understanding of E-E-A-T, local SEO, and technical SEO fundamentals. Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with basic HTML/CSS preferred.
