Parris McKenna Design

At Parris McKenna Design (PMD), we specialize in creating refined, timeless interiors for luxury residential homes across Toronto and Muskoka. Our work is deeply influenced by the natural landscape, translating West Coast sensibilities into thoughtfully designed spaces that balance beauty, comfort, and lasting functionality. We collaborate closely with homeowners, architects, and builders to deliver a seamless design experience from concept through construction.

We are seeking a Senior Interior Architectural Designer with advanced Revit expertise to join our collaborative team in Port Carling, Ontario. In this role, you will play a critical part in translating design concepts into comprehensive, build-ready construction drawing packages for large-scale, high-end residential projects. Working closely with our Senior Interior Designer, you will ensure that every design is documented with technical precision and executed seamlessly in the field.

If you are passionate about luxury residential design, technical excellence, and collaborative project delivery, this is an opportunity to contribute to thoughtfully crafted homes that reflect both our clients’ lifestyles and the natural character of the Muskoka landscape.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:

Technical Design Leadership

Lead the development of detailed technical documentation for high-end residential interiors, translating design concepts into clear, accurate construction drawing packages ready for execution.

Luxury Residential Project Delivery

Support the design and documentation of custom residential projects, including new builds and large-scale renovations, ensuring that each home reflects our philosophy of approachable elegance and timeless design.

Construction Documentation

Produce comprehensive drawing sets in Revit and AutoCAD, including floor plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, power and communication plans, and detailed millwork drawings.

Millwork & Interior Detailing

Develop detailed documentation for custom millwork, architectural interior elements, and material specifications, ensuring all technical details align with design intent.

Coordination & Collaboration

Work closely with senior designers, architects, engineers, and trades to coordinate technical details and resolve challenges throughout the design and construction process.

Quality Control & Accuracy

Ensure all drawings meet applicable building codes, industry standards, and PMD’s internal quality benchmarks, maintaining consistency and accuracy across all project documentation.

Design Integration

Support the design team by ensuring technical documentation accurately reflects design concepts, finishes, and spatial planning throughout project development.

Project Coordination

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail, timelines, and technical accuracy as designs evolve and revisions are implemented.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technical interior design, preferably within luxury residential projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with the ability to produce complete construction drawing packages efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods, detailing, and building codes.
  • Experience documenting custom millwork, finishes, and architectural interior elements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to technical precision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to translate design concepts into fully coordinated technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with designers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working within a collaborative, fast-paced studio environment.

  • A supportive, collaborative, and creative studio environment
  • The opportunity to contribute to thoughtfully designed luxury homes across Toronto and Muskoka
