Your Role: Lead the Fresh and Bakery Merchandising TeamAre you a strategic problem solver with a passion for data and organization? We’re looking for someone like you to take the reins of our Fresh and Bakery merchandising team! In this dynamic role, you will:
- Drive category profitability through precise inventory management and advanced demand forecasting using the RELEX AI replenishment system.
- Provide critical financial oversight via WSSI management and range architecture analysis to optimize performance year-round and during seasonal campaigns.
- Coach and develop an Assistant Merchandiser and a Merchandise Admin Assistant, shaping the future of our team.
- Forecasting & Replenishment: Master the AI replenishment tool (RELEX) to ensure accurate forecasting and store-level replenishment.
- Lifecycle Management: Achieve availability and wastage KPIs by adjusting buy quantities based on seasonality and historical performance.
- Range Architecture: Analyze category and campaign performance to provide data-backed recommendations for future growth.
- Production Planning: Collaborate with in-house Chefs to manage made-in-house products and oversee demand forecasts.
- Commercial Reporting: Deliver insightful weekly reports on sales and margin performance, utilizing WSSI to identify trends.
- Trading Strategy: Ensure stock levels align with financial targets for both All-Year-Round (AYR) products and seasonal campaigns.
- Pricing & Markdowns: Work with the Buying team to execute strategic markdown plans, protecting margins while clearing inventory.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Build strong partnerships with Buying, Branch Merchandising, Retail, Online, Marketing, Logistics, and Warehouse for a unified approach.
- Range Optimization: Collaborate with Buying to refine the product mix, ensuring it meets customer demand.
- Retail & Branch Optimization: Partner with Branch Merchandising to enhance in-store ranging and launch timings.
- Operational Excellence: Manage the supply chain from supplier to distribution center, ensuring accountability to OTIF (On-Time In-Full) KPIs.
- Promotional Execution: Oversee stock flow for high-impact campaigns to ensure seamless launches and exits.
- Mentorship: Directly oversee, coach, and develop the Assistant Merchandiser and Merchandise Admin Assistant.
- Experience: 2+ years in a Merchandiser or Planner role, preferably within Grocery, FMCG, or Perishables.
- Analytical Prowess: Strong Excel skills, comfortable with LOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complex data modeling.
- Agility: Ability to make quick decisions and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of margins, markdowns, and the financial impact of wastage.
