We are on the lookout for a strategic problem solver who is data-driven and highly organized to lead our Fresh and Bakery merchandising team. Your RoleAs a key commercial lead, you will:
- Drive profitability through expert inventory management and demand forecasting using the RELEX AI replenishment system .
- Provide critical financial oversight via WSSI management and range architecture analysis.
- Coach and develop an Assistant Merchandiser and a Merchandise Admin Assistant.
- Collaborate with various teams including Buying, Retail, Marketing, and Logistics.
- Strategic Demand & Inventory Management:
- Manage and optimize the RELEX tool for accurate forecasting and replenishment.
- Adjust buy quantities based on seasonality and historical performance.
- Provide data-backed recommendations on range architecture and growth opportunities.
- Partner with in-house Chefs for production planning and demand forecasts.
- Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Deliver comprehensive weekly reports on sales and margin performance.
- Manage the financial health of both All-Year-Round products and seasonal campaigns.
- Execute strategic markdown plans in collaboration with the Buying team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Develop strong partnerships with various teams to ensure a unified approach.
- Refine the product mix to meet customer demand.
- Optimize in-store ranging and launch timings with Branch Merchandising.
- Supply Chain & Supplier Relations:
- Manage the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring accountability to OTIF KPIs.
- Oversee stock flow for high-impact campaigns and seasonal lines.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Mentor and develop your team members for their professional growth.
- Experience: 2+ years in a Merchandiser or Planner role, preferably in Grocery, FMCG, or Perishables.
- Analytical Skills: Strong Excel skills, including LOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complex data modeling.
- Agility: Ability to make quick decisions and manage multiple deadlines.
- Commercial Acumen: Understanding of margins, markdowns, and the financial impact of wastage.
