Our Boston, Massachusetts location is seeking a certified Forklift Operator to join our busy logistics team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials within our warehouse. Your expertise ensures the smooth and secure handling of goods, playing a vital part in our supply chain operations. You will be expected to maintain the equipment you operate, conduct pre-operation checks, and adhere to all safety regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires a high level of skill, concentration, and a deep understanding of warehouse safety protocols. Proper lifting and maneuvering techniques are essential for success and the prevention of accidents. We are looking for experienced and certified forklift operators who are reliable, safety-conscious, and possess excellent spatial awareness. A strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are crucial. Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is highly preferred. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move, stack, and arrange inventory within the warehouse.
- Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on forklift equipment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of PPE.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including picking and packing.
- Ensure efficient and safe flow of goods within the logistics operations.
- Follow site-specific safety protocols and operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- Valid Forklift Operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions precisely.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to safety in logistics.
- Physical ability to perform duties associated with forklift operation.
