Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist for our Indianapolis, Indiana facility. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, and implementing measures to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency. The Inventory Control Specialist will also monitor stock levels, assist with receiving and shipping documentation related to inventory, and ensure proper organization and storage of goods within the warehouse. This position requires a sharp analytical mind, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong understanding of inventory management principles and logistics best practices. You will work closely with warehouse and operational teams to identify root causes of discrepancies and implement corrective actions. A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, including proper use of PPE, is mandatory. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a related field. Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
  • Identify root causes of inventory inaccuracies and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
  • Assist with the accuracy of inbound receipts and outbound shipments.
  • Maintain organized inventory storage and ensure proper stock rotation (e.g., FIFO/LIFO).
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve inventory control processes.
  • Generate reports on inventory status, accuracy, and discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the correct use of PPE.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Support logistics operations through accurate inventory data.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
