We are looking for a motivated Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our expanding operations in Raleigh, North Carolina. This dual-role position is critical for managing the inflow and outflow of goods within our distribution center. You will be responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and securely storing received goods. Simultaneously, you will prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring orders are picked, packed, labeled, and dispatched correctly and on time. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding rigorous safety standards. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential for coordinating with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments. This position involves operating material handling equipment, and adherence to all safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE, is mandatory. Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, inspect for damage, and verify contents against purchase orders or invoices.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Organize and stock received items in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment according to specifications.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation for outgoing shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all shipments are properly secured and labeled.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified).
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain functions of the company.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving roles within a warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable and possess a strong work ethic.
