Our Milwaukee, Wisconsin facility is seeking a reliable Shipping Clerk to join our dedicated logistics team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing the outbound flow of goods, ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately, documented correctly, and dispatched on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. A strong focus on organization and adherence to Safety protocols is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels and documents accurately.
- Verify shipment contents against order details.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ensure packages are properly sealed and ready for dispatch.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with general warehouse duties, including picking and packing, as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar administrative/warehouse role.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including shipping software and MS Office.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Familiarity with PPE requirements for warehouse operations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical activity, including occasional Lifting of up to 30 lbs.
