We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Omaha, Nebraska. The Receiving Clerk is responsible for all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and timely processing. This role is crucial to maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting efficient warehouse operations. You will be the first point of contact for many of our suppliers and carriers, requiring strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming products for damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and stage received goods for put-away by other warehouse personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (certification may be required).
- Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.
- Communicate any receiving issues or discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical exertion, including frequent bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines and wearing required PPE.
