Job Description

Northtex Construction is seeking an experienced Estimator / Project Manager to oversee projects from bid preparation through completion. This role is responsible for accurate estimating, project coordination, cost control, and schedule management for paving, excavation, and utility construction projects .

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing multiple projects while maintaining profitability, quality, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for paving, excavation, and utility projects
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Develop project budgets, schedules, and timelines
• Manage projects from award through close-out
• Coordinate with field supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors
• Track job costs, change orders, and production
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Communicate with clients, inspectors, and vendors
• Enforce safety and company standards on all projects

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 year's experience in estimating and/or project management.
• PLUS if use of specialized estimating software or project management software - not just Excel.
• Strong knowledge of paving, excavation, and underground utilities
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Experience with construction estimating and project management software
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred (Not Required)

• FIELD EXPERIENCE
• Ability to read plans and drawings
• Civil construction background
• Experience with municipal, commercial, or DOT projects
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
