WSB is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Systems Administrator (Enterprise File Systems) to lead enterprise file system and infrastructure management across our organization. This role will maintain and optimize our Nasuni/DFS file system and Windows Server infrastructure, manage Azure-based storage and cloud resources, and drive sustainable data governance and archiving strategies. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills in Windows Server administration, storage management, permissions management, and scripting with the ability to build trusted partnerships across a 1,700-person organization. Hands-on experience with data governance frameworks, Microsoft Purview, retention policies, or compliance requirements is strongly preferred. What You Will Do: Serve as the organization's subject matter expert for enterprise file system management, ensuring data is organized, secure, and accessible across all business units. Manage and maintain the Nasuni/DFS file system, including structure, permissions, replication, and performance optimization. Partner with business units to organize and govern unstructured data, balancing efficiency, security, and usability. Lead data lifecycle management efforts, including developing archival policies, retention strategies, and storage optimization initiatives. Create and maintain documentation of file structures, access rules, and data ownership to support organizational knowledge and compliance requirements. Develop internal standards and best practices for data classification, labeling, and access controls. Conduct periodic audits of data access, stale data, and storage usage, providing actionable recommendations to leadership. Support legal hold and eDiscovery requirements in coordination with legal and compliance teams. Collaborate with infrastructure teams to plan, scale, and modernize storage solutions. Provide data-related guidance during onboarding for new staff and system implementations. Assess data repositories for AI and automation readiness as the organization expands its use of these technologies. Administer Windows Server environments to ensure system performance, availability, and security across the organization. Manage Azure infrastructure resources, including Azure Files, Blob Storage, and hybrid cloud storage solutions, to support the organization's evolving cloud strategy. Implement and maintain data governance policies using Microsoft Purview, enforcing retention schedules, classification labels, permissions controls, and storage management standards across the enterprise. What You Will Bring: 3+ years of experience managing enterprise file systems (DFS or equivalent) in a mid-to-large organization. Strong understanding of data security principles, retention policies, and data lifecycle management. Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or other scripting tools for automation and reporting. Solid grasp of access control models, permissions management, and storage management in a Windows environment. Hands-on experience administering Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and related infrastructure services. Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Files, Azure Blob Storage, and hybrid cloud environments, with experience supporting on-premises to cloud migrations. Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. A collaborative mindset and comfort working across departments with varying levels of technical familiarity. Our Preferred Candidate Will Have: Familiarity with Microsoft Purview or similar data governance and compliance tools within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Knowledge of compliance standards relevant to engineering and consulting (e.g., CMMC, state data retention requirements). Experience leading large-scale data migrations, cleanup initiatives, or storage consolidation projects. Background in supporting M&A data integration or multi-office environments.
