POSITION SUMMARY
As an Applications Engineer, you will need to formulate an engineered estimate and or budget for new and existing clients that shall be provided by consultants, engineers, construction managers, and general contractors and also from in-house Sales Representatives, Key Account Representatives and or Project Managers.
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN NEWARK, DE
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Interface with Account Mangers, Support Services, Implementation Coordinators, Project Managers and Proposal Support Department on a regular basis. Interface with Customers, Manufacturer's Representatives, Manufacturer's Technical staff, DistributionSuppliersand Supply Vendors on a regular basis. Interface with area and senior leadership to develop a win strategy and evaluate the dynamics of projects. Work with fellow application engineers providing guidanceand ordesign aid in projects and products that are unfamiliar to them. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Develop project requirements from interviews, customer provided scope of work, site surveys,specification, pricing sheets and drawing reviews. Develop and provide detailed equipment list, electrical requirements, installation requirements and costing for turn-key security system solutions. Configure and quote proprietary Pre Fabrication of applicable access control,CCTVand other systems ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Product selection and application (to ensure the right product is used in the right application) whilemaintainingadherence to Securitas's product selection process and design standards. Estimate installation costs in conjunction with Implementation Operations, Service Operations, InternalLaborand External Labor Review of Field Site Survey documents and drawings. Supports the RFI, RFP, RFQ and RFM&S process as needed Create estimates and budgets for access control, intrusion, cctv, intercom, PSIM, PLC and structured cabling systems Review architectural, electrical, telecommunication, security engineering floor plans, riser drawings, device schedules, detail drawings,interconnectand closet layout drawings. Interpret specifications, addendums, revisions,sketchesand Scope of work. Workwith project managers and design engineersfor creatingchange orders on existing and ongoing projects. Manage assigned projects andmaintaindeadlines for each project. Build andmaintaina good relationship with coworkers,suppliersand manufacturers. Create a detailed list of clarifications, exclusions & compliance ona perproject basis Knowledge of construction schedules, projectmeetingsand how they pertain and impact the project. Able to research product informationutilizingthe internet Excellent working knowledge of construction industry conventions Good understanding of work load and the requirements tomaintaincommitments. Ability to assemble all cost aspects of a project Ability to recognize strategic and competitive issues Ability to challenge labor bids from subs for various labor categories including IBEW Ability to navigate high value job environment fortime lines, and compliance requirements Firm grasp of the competitive environment and strategic plays by competitors Excellent command and knowledge of building code requirements ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Experience 5-7 Years Education BA Business/ BS Engineering/MS Engineering Applicable amount of experience in theappropriate fieldmay be substituted for the educational background Thorough understanding of electronic security systems, their individual parts, and the onsite labor necessary to complete an installation. Ability to read and understand written specifications,drawingsand controlling documents. Computer skills to include: MS Office Acrobat Visio DWG Writer Big Machines Sales Force dot com Good communicationskills Ability toprocuresubcontractor pricing Ability to level bids from multiple subcontractors Excellent working knowledge of construction industry conventions Good understanding of work load and the requirements tomaintaincommitments.
