Your responsibilities
- Act as NEC Supervisor and main site representative.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to support successful project delivery.
- Monitor site activities for compliance with regulations, standards, and procedures.
- Review contractor quality plans, risk assessments, and method statements with the Project Manager.
- Ensure safe, efficient site operations with minimal impact on stakeholders and the environment.
- Agree and witness inspection and testing activities, including offsite equipment.
- Perform regular audits and inspections of contractor work, directing remedial actions and following up on non-conformance.
- Coordinate access and logistics with client operations for efficient project progress.
- Inspect completed works for readiness, record outcomes, and oversee remedial actions.
- Set and agree workmanship standards jointly with the contractor for consistency.
- Monitor contractor inspection records and as-built drawings for contract compliance.
- Hold regular site meetings to track staff deployment and work details.
- Track project progress with site visits, inspections, and compare to schedules; elevate issues as needed.
- Maintain an up-to-date site diary and photo database of progress.
- Support the Project Manager on Compensation Event assessments and report writing.
- Attend and contribute to progress meetings and joint safety tours.
- Promote HSSE awareness and high workmanship standards among contractors’ staff.
- Review project performance, contribute to reporting, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with quality management system and client standards.
- Oversee integration of systems and sub-systems to meet performance specifications.
- Manage quality records and arrange archival upon project closure.
Your profile
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience, with at least 7 years of specialisation within NEC Supervision, in large scale multidisciplinary railway engineering and construction projects, or projects of a similar nature. xcfaprz
- At least Bachelor degree (Honours Bachelor Degree) (or equivalent) in relevant subject area e.g. Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction, project management etc.
- NEC3/4 ECC Supervision Accreditation
- Chartered member of a relevant professional body e.g. Engineers Ireland, RICS or equivalent
- Applicable knowledge of monitoring Contractors and Consultants performance
- Sound experience and understanding of claims management
- Experience of supervising Contractors and Consultants performance management frameworks
- Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Contractors and Consultants organisations, as well as experience in building a KPI library
- Demonstrable experience in executing contracts, particularly NEC contract suite
- Further experience in developing individual contract management strategies, and implementing those strategies
- Detailed understanding of, and expertise in, NEC 3/4 contract management particularly within the Complex Infrastructure industry, ideally within Rail, Tunnelling or Civils/structures Ability to lead a small team
- Experience in report writing
- Good command of Thinkproject CEMAR
