RecruitmentPlus on behalf of our client are seeking an experienced Purchasing professional to manage their Purchasing function. Along with general buying/procurement duties this role will use market knowledge to optimise costs, quality and delivery.

• 
  
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a procurement or buying capacity, ideally in a fast-paced food or FMCG environment.
  
• Hold a qualification in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting or a related field.
  
• Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills, with commercial acumen for cost analysis and contract management.
  
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, build stakeholder relationships and manage suppliers.
  
• Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to independently prioritise workload.
  
• Understanding of supply chain and people management, purchasing/accounting software and inventory control processes.

• Deliver measurable improvements in supplier performance, cost management and operational continuity.
  
• Contribute to strategic sourcing, vendor development and cost reduction initiatives that support company growth.
  
• Meet KPIs including cost savings, supplier on-time delivery performance and inventory efficiency.
  
• Negotiate prices, contracts, terms and delivery conditions with suppliers to optimise purchasing outcomes.
  
• Manage inventory levels and minimise costs through effective planning and control.
  
• Ensure supplier performance meets internal quality, environmental and safety standards.
  
• Resolve delivery issues, discrepancies and back-orders.
  
• Support the implementation of procurement strategies and continuous improvement initiatives in the supply chain.
  
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, compliance requirements and company purchasing guidelines.
