About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead and manage all HR functions. This role is responsible for overseeing the full employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with employment and health & safety legislation, and supporting a positive, productive workplace culture.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong working knowledge of applicable employment and occupational health and safety legislation.
Please note, this is an in-office position and is currently based out of our head office at 21 State Crown Boulevard, Scarborough ON M1V 4B1. However, we will be relocating to a new facility in Newmarket, ON in Spring 2026.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and offboarding
- Act as a trusted advisor to management on HR matters and organizational planning
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures
- Support workforce planning and succession initiatives
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles
- Partner with department managers to identify staffing needs
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs
- Develop employee retention strategies
- Provide guidance and support on employee performance, discipline, and conflict resolution
- Conduct employee relations investigations when required
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment standards
- Administer benefits plans
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and related regulations
- Maintain compliance with the Employment Standards Act, 2000 and other applicable employment legislation
- Oversee workplace safety programs and participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) activities
- Support incident investigations, reporting, and return-to-work programs
- Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Ensure compliance with privacy and record-keeping requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- CHRP or CHRL designation preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive HR experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Experience supporting hourly workforce and shop-floor environments
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality

Working Hours:
We recognize that experienced HR professionals may be seeking flexibility. This is a permanent position structured for a reduced schedule of 25-30 hours per week.
Compensation:
$90,000.00 – $120,000.00 annual base salary (full-time equivalent), prorated to weekly work schedule. Total compensation will be commensurate with experience.
