Amazon Margin Recovery Architect
Remote | Full Time
We are working with a profitable nine figure Amazon business operating across multiple global marketplaces.
The company currently uses a third party recovery provider. However, leadership believes Amazon fee complexity and operational leakage are leaving significant money on the table.
Lost inventory
Incorrect FBA fees
Dimensional tier errors
Inbound discrepancies
Settlement anomalies
Recovery vendors missing events
At this scale even a one percent improvement in margin recovery could translate into several million dollars per year.
They are now hiring someone to take full ownership of solving this.
This is not a reimbursement filing role.
This is a mandate to build the internal system that detects, quantifies, and prevents Amazon margin leakage.
You will design the company’s first internal Amazon revenue recovery and margin protection framework across more than 10,000 ASINs and nine figure annual revenue.
The Role
The person hired will operate at the intersection of Amazon operations, Finance, and data.
Your job is to build the internal architecture that ensures the company always knows where money is being lost inside Amazon and how to recover or prevent it.
You will audit existing recovery processes, build detection logic across Amazon reporting and operational data, and implement a structured margin protection system.
This role has direct visibility with senior leadership and the opportunity to build a completely new function.
What You Will Do
Design and implement an internal Amazon margin recovery framework
Audit third party recovery vendors to measure real coverage versus theoretical loss
Identify hidden margin leakage across areas such as lost inventory, FBA fee misclassification, dimensional tier errors, inbound shortages, storage exposure, and settlement discrepancies
Build structured reporting that allows Finance to see exactly what is recoverable, what has been recovered, and where leakage still exists
Develop detection logic using Amazon reports, ERP data, and BI tooling
Work with operations and supply chain teams to prevent recurring margin loss
Create a scalable system that protects margin as the business continues to grow
What Success Looks Like
Within the first year you will likely:
Quantify total Amazon margin leakage across the business
Identify blind spots missed by existing recovery providers
Build reporting that gives leadership full visibility into recoverable revenue
Implement prevention controls that reduce recurring leakage
Establish the company’s long term Amazon revenue assurance framework
What This Role Is Not
This is not a case filing or reimbursement operations role
This is not a customer service escalation function
This is not purely a data engineering role
This is a commercial ownership role focused on detecting, recovering, and preventing Amazon margin leakage.
Ideal Background
Deep understanding of Amazon Seller Central financial mechanics including settlements, FBA reimbursements, fee structures, and operational cost drivers
Experience working with Amazon seller businesses, aggregators, or ecommerce operators
Strong analytical capability with Excel and ideally SQL or BI tools
Ability to connect operational events inside Amazon to financial impact
Comfort operating across Amazon operations, Finance, and data
A mindset focused on systems, detection, and prevention rather than manual claim handling
Why This Role Is Interesting
The business is profitable, growing quickly, and run by a lean team with strong operational ownership.
Leadership understands that Amazon margin recovery is not simply about filing claims but about building the internal system that ensures money is never left behind.
You will have the freedom to architect that system from scratch.
