We are currently seeking an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to join our team.

Role Description

The Ocean Import Coordinator is responsible for managing end-to-end ocean import shipments, ensuring compliance with Canadian regulations, and delivering exceptional service to clients and overseas partners. This role requires strong knowledge of international freight forwarding, especially in ocean shipping.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle ocean import shipments (FCL & LCL) from booking to final delivery
• Coordinate with overseas agents, carriers, rail providers, warehouses, customs brokers, and clients to ensure smooth shipment flow
• Opening files, E-manifest filings, and reviewing and processing shipping documentation
• Track and trace shipments, provide updates to clients, and resolve service issues
• Monitor cargo availability, demurrage, detention and port storage timelines
• Approve payment for carriers and other service providers
• Issue and review invoices, and ensure accuracy
• Reply and monitor daily emails and communications promptly with overseas agents, various service providers and clients

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of ocean import experience in the freight forwarding industry
• Full understanding of ocean FCL/LCL procedures and documentation
• Friendly with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online tracking/tracing systems
