Our Charlotte, North Carolina facility is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our logistics team. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in managing the movement of materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring efficient operations and timely processing of goods. This role is critical for maintaining the flow of products, from receiving to shipping. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and organizing inventory within the facility. Safety is paramount in this role; strict adherence to safety protocols and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are required at all times. This position requires physical strength and stamina, including regular lifting and maneuvering of materials. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts or other heavy machinery, possess a strong understanding of warehouse safety, and be adept at managing inventory. Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Move materials and products to designated storage areas.
- Organize and maintain inventory stock.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes.
- Perform regular safety checks on equipment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and use required PPE.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment issues.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of warehouse logistics.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Certification or experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Ability to perform frequent heavy lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations and the use of PPE.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems is a plus.
- Reliable and committed to punctuality and safety in logistics operations.
