Join our fast-paced logistics environment as a Material Handler in New York City, New York. This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our distribution center. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, and packing and staging orders for shipment. A strong focus on safety is paramount; all employees are required to wear appropriate PPE, including hard hats, safety vests, and steel-toed footwear. You will be trained on safe operating procedures for forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery. This position requires consistent physical exertion, including frequent bending, stooping, and significant lifting, typically up to 50 pounds, and occasionally more. You will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy through diligent scanning and record-keeping. This job also involves ensuring that the warehouse is kept clean, organized, and hazard-free.
