Join our fast-paced logistics team as a Material Handler in Los Angeles, California. This role is critical for maintaining the efficient movement and storage of materials within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating various types of industrial equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks, to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your duties will also include loading and unloading trucks, organizing inventory, and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the warehouse environment. We are looking for a dedicated individual with a strong work ethic, excellent operational skills, and a deep commitment to safety. Proper use of PPE and strict adherence to all safety regulations are essential. This position involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting and maneuvering of materials.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move, stack, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety protocols and utilizing PPE.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring accuracy and proper packaging.
- Support logistics operations by ensuring materials are readily available for production or shipping.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid forklift operator certification is required. Proven experience operating various types of material handling equipment. Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE. Ability to perform tasks involving heavy lifting, up to 70 lbs. Excellent spatial awareness and manual dexterity. Must be able to work in a demanding logistics environment.
