Seeking a reliable Shipping Clerk to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina! As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring that outgoing orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and are ready for dispatch. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipments, verifying order details, packaging items, and coordinating with carriers. This position is vital to our logistics process and requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick, pack, and label outgoing orders according to shipping manifests and customer specifications.
- Verify the contents of shipments against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading and tracking labels.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL) to schedule pickups and ensure timely departures.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and tape machines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area, adhering to all Safety guidelines and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Conduct quality checks on packed items before shipment to ensure they meet standards.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts, as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers regarding shipping status.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and success of our logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a general warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order preparation and documentation.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting, up to 40 lbs.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals is a plus.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety protocols.
