Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist for our New York City, New York location. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for managing stock levels, conducting audits, and implementing strategies to optimize inventory management within our complex logistics network.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Implement and refine inventory control procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and reduce stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Manage the receiving and put-away processes to ensure proper stock rotation (e.g., FIFO/LIFO).
  • Ensure the proper storage and organization of inventory to maximize space utilization and minimize damage.
  • Work closely with other departments, including purchasing and logistics, to align inventory levels with demand.
  • Enforce safety regulations and ensure the correct use of PPE within inventory management areas.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on inventory control procedures and best practices.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or management.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Thorough understanding of inventory control principles and logistics operations.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and adherence to PPE requirements.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment.
