We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role involves not only the general operations of the warehouse but also the maintenance and upkeep of warehouse equipment and systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, conveyor systems, and racking.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the warehouse environment.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and order picking as needed.
- Ensure all warehouse machinery is in safe working order and properly maintained.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all regulations, including proper use of PPE.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Support the implementation of new warehouse technologies or systems.
- Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities and equipment status.
- Operate a variety of material handling equipment.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in safety and efficiency.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics or electronics is a plus.
- Proven experience in a warehouse or maintenance role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining warehouse machinery.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and best practices.
- Familiarity with various tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of logistics processes.
