Are you a skilled Material Handler looking for a challenging opportunity in Richmond, Virginia? We are seeking a motivated individual to manage the movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring that materials are efficiently transported, stored, and made available for production or shipping. You will operate various types of material handling equipment, maintain accurate inventory records, and uphold strict safety standards. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Move raw materials, finished goods, and other inventory within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Stage materials for production or order picking processes.
- Conduct regular inspections of material handling equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with cycle counts.
- Organize warehouse storage areas to maximize space and accessibility.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Support the broader logistics and warehouse team as needed.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler, Forklift Operator, or similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is a strong asset.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 70 lbs, regularly.
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics and material flow.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Commitment to upholding rigorous safety standards and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
