We are looking for a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of goods. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, verifying outgoing orders, and maintaining detailed records. This position requires exceptional organizational skills and a strong understanding of warehouse operations and shipping procedures. You will contribute to the seamless flow of products through our supply chain, ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient and accurate shipping processes. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to all protocols is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs forms.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify outgoing orders against shipping manifests for accuracy.
- Label packages correctly and ensure proper packaging for transit.
- Maintain organized and accurate shipping records.
- Communicate with warehouse staff and other departments regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Safely operate equipment like pallet jacks and scanners.
- Uphold rigorous safety standards, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role within logistics.
- Proficiency in shipping software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with various shipping carriers and methods.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
