Chief Technology Officer

Our client is a leading innovator in learning technology, partnering with some of the most respected education organisations globally. Their platform supports millions of learners worldwide, delivering personalised learning experiences powered by advanced data science and scalable engineering.

Headquartered in Dublin, the business is supported by a highly skilled international team. As the business enters their next phase of growth, they are seeking a Chief Technology Officer to provide long-term strategic technology leadership and executive direction.

The CTO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing the organisation's technology vision, ensuring platform excellence, and aligning engineering strategy with commercial and product objectives.

This role extends beyond operational management. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across architecture, scalability, security, data capability, and innovation, while maintaining the delivery discipline required by enterprise and government clients.

• You will define and lead the long‑term technology strategy aligned to company growth and market positioning.
  
• Provide executive oversight of engineering, platform architecture, data science collaboration, and infrastructure evolution.
  
• Lead and develop a distributed engineering team of 10-12 software engineers, fostering high performance, accountability, and engagement.
  
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and resilience of our API‑first adaptive learning platform.
  
• Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team on strategic planning, client engagement, and growth initiatives.
  
• Act as senior technical authority in client and partner engagements where required.
  
• Oversee engineering governance, security posture, and compliance within a SOC‑2 audited environment.
  
• Drive continuous improvement across delivery processes, tooling, and technical standards.
  

We are seeking an executive technology leader with a proven ability to combine strategic vision with operational excellence.

You will have:

• 
  
• Prior experience as CTO, VP Engineering, or equivalent executive‑level technology leader within a SaaS, platform, or enterprise software environment.
  
• Demonstrated success scaling and leading distributed engineering teams in remote‑first organisations.
  
• Strong architectural acumen across cloud native systems, API‑driven platforms, and secure, high‑availability environments.
  
• Experience operating in regulated or enterprise facing environments with structured governance and compliance frameworks.
  
• Commercial awareness, with the ability to align technology investment to growth, client value, and competitive positioning.
  
• A composed, structured leadership style capable of balancing innovation with reliability.
