Financial Director

Obelisk Communications Ltd is an internationally competitive engineering services provider operating across telecommunications, power infrastructure and renewable energy. Founded in 1996 and acquired by Constructel Visabeira in 2022, Obelisk forms part of a global group delivering large‑scale infrastructure solutions across Europe and beyond.

We are now seeking an experienced Financial Director to take full ownership of the Irish finance function and play a key role within the Senior Leadership Team.

Reporting to the Group CFO UK & Ireland and working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the Financial Director will be responsible for leading financial strategy, governance and performance across the business. This is a hands‑on, senior leadership role with real influence on business decisions and future growth.

• Lead and develop a high‑performing finance function, ensuring strong controls and best‑in‑class processes
  
• Own the delivery of annual budgets, rolling forecasts and weekly cashflow reporting
  
• Produce timely and insightful monthly management accounts and reporting packs
  
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including Revenue deadlines
  
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and control account reviews
  
• Provide commercial insight and financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision‑making
  
• Monitor contract performance, including Work in Progress (WIP)
  
• Drive continuous improvement, cost efficiencies and financial discipline across the organisation
  
• Act as a trusted business partner to senior operational and leadership teams
  

You will be a commercially minded finance leader with the confidence and credibility to operate at senior level in a fast‑paced, project‑led environment.

• Proven experience as a Financial Director or senior finance leader
  
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence strategic decisions
  
• A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  
• Experience within utilities, construction, engineering or service‑based sectors (highly desirable)
  
• A track record of delivering robust financial controls and insightful reporting
  
• Experience using SAP systems; SAP S/4HANA Cloud experience is a strong advantage
  
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  
• A proactive, hands‑on approach with a focus on continuous improvement

• Location: Dublin (with occasional travel to Liverpool, UK)
  
• Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm
  
• Salary: Circa €120,000 per annum
