Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join our expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a successful and forward‑thinking organisation.

Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, plant, and other resources required for projects.

Review mechanical design drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to identify scope, risks, and opportunities.

Maintain an understanding of industry benchmarks and competitive pricing to support the tender process.

Source accurate quotations for materials, equipment, and systems to develop reliable cost estimates.

Conduct value engineering exercises and propose cost‑effective alternatives without compromising quality or compliance.

Identify and assess risks within mechanical elements (e.g., HVAC, piping, ductwork, utilities) and include appropriate contingencies.

Assist in the preparation of tenders and proposals.

Collaborate with the pre‑construction team to develop competitive pricing strategies.

Engage with suppliers and manufacturers to secure competitive pricing and confirm lead‑time reliability.

Communication

Liaise effectively with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Clarify project requirements and negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors.

Documentation

Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, tender submissions, and associated documentation.

Update estimates to reflect changes in project scope or specifications.

Provide cost breakdowns and clarifications to project teams following contract award to support a smooth handover.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

Ensure all estimates align with current building regulations, sustainability standards, and health and safety requirements.

Stay informed on industry trends, material cost fluctuations, and evolving construction methodologies.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

8+ years’ experience as an Estimator, ideally within mechanical building services.

Experience working on Building, Data Centre, and Pharmaceutical projects.

Proficiency with estimating software and digital tools.

Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
