The Lead Software Engineer will be instrumental in crafting exceptional user experiences for our digital platforms. You will spearhead the design and implementation of responsive, high-performance React applications to bring Disney's unparalleled content to audiences around the globe. Your key responsibilities: Lead the development of React-based user interfaces that meet high standards for performance and usability. Architect robust, scalable frontend systems to support diverse business needs. Optimize state management techniques, ensuring seamless integration with Redux and other relevant technologies. Champion front-end best practices in accessibility, performance, and security. Mentor fellow developers, fostering a culture of excellence and adherence to coding standards. Oversee code reviews, providing constructive feedback, and facilitating knowledge sharing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to deliver exceptional user experiences. Coordinate with DevOps and QA teams to optimize deployment processes and performance monitoring. Stay abreast of the latest trends in React and front-end technologies to keep our approaches cutting-edge. Tackle front-end bottlenecks, optimizing performance through approaches like lazy loading and code splitting. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 7+ years of front-end development experience, with expertise in React and modern JavaScript frameworks. 3+ years in a lead UI development role, mentoring developers. Proven success in architecting scalable front-end solutions for high-traffic applications. Experience within agile development environments, collaborating with diverse teams. Familiarity with RESTful APIs and UI component integration. Proficient in React, Redux, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript (ES6+). Strong knowledge of performance optimization techniques for front-end development. Expertise in CSS methodologies and responsive design principles. Hands-on experience with containerization and cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Next.js or other server-side rendering frameworks. Familiarity with advanced web technologies like WebAssembly or Three.js. Knowledge of streaming technologies and media processing. Experience in the media, entertainment, or sports sectors.
