Senior Mechanical Engineer

A senior mechanical design role leading projects across EMEA, with full responsibility for delivery from concept through client handover. The position is highly client-facing and includes technical leadership, quality assurance, and mentoring of engineering teams within a multidisciplinary environment. Hybrid working in Ireland with some Dublin office attendance.

• Acute Hospital Expansion & New Clinical Facilities
  

Delivery of mechanical services for large-scale hospital expansions, including operating theatres, ICU, diagnostics, and inpatient wards within live hospital environments.

Replacement and upgrade of central plant, heating and cooling systems, ventilation infrastructure, and energy-efficient solutions to support net-zero healthcare objectives.

• Live Hospital Refurbishment & Phased Works
  

Complex refurbishment and upgrade projects within operational hospitals, requiring careful coordination, infection control management, and staged delivery.

• 
  
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Chartered an advantage)
  
• 6+ years’ experience across healthcare and commercial projects
  
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare mechanical systems: HVAC and specialist ventilation, medical gas systemss, critical heating and cooling plant, pressure regimes and infection control
  
• Strong understanding of healthcare standards, regulations, and compliance
  
• Strong client-facing and project leadership experience
  
• Ability to run projects independently

• Lead mechanical building services design from concept to completion
  
• Mechanical systems design and specification
  
• Design and installation quality control
  
• Tender documentation, xcfaprz reports, and technical recommendations
  
• Develop project scope with clients and design teams
  
• Mentor and support junior engineers
  

• 
  
• Strong knowledge of CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS, IS, and EN standards
  
• AutoCAD and Revit essential; Bluebeam advantageous
  
• Comfortable with engineering analysis tools and technical documentation
