Android Developer

GemPool are looking for a Senior Android Developer to guide the technical direction of a large-scale, customer-facing mobile platform used by millions every year. You’ll focus on architecture, scalability, and mentorship, collaborating closely with multiple agile teams across Android and iOS.

Location: North Dublin (Hybrid - usually 1 day in the office per week)

Contract Duration: 6-12 months with possible extension opportunities

Rate Breakdown to a salary:

Irish Working days in 20026 = 253 - 25 days holiday/sick leave = 228 days

• Lead Android architecture and set coding standards for a complex, high-traffic app
• Drive re-platforming initiatives and ensure best practices in performance, testing, and reliability
• Mentor and support engineers across mobile teams
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless, user-first experiences

• 10 years of Android development experience
• Around 3 years in a technical leadership role, leading teams or projects
• Expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern app architecture
• Proven track record in delivering large-scale, high-availability mobile applications
• Strong experience with CI/CD, API integrations, and automated testing

• Understanding of cross-platform strategies, analytics, or accessibility best practices
