We are seeking an experienced Automation Project Manager to support one of our key client sites on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the Douglas team and play a critical role in delivering automation expertise across the Mayo based site.
This role is focused on implementation and coordination, not cybersecurity design. While some exposure to cybersecurity is beneficial, the primary requirement is strong experience managing automation, OT, IT, and vendor activities in live manufacturing environments. A solid understanding of industrial networks is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and drive site-level execution of the approved network segmentation architecture
- Develop and manage a detailed implementation plan covering applications, PLCs, infrastructure, validation, change windows and rollback strategies
- Identify and coordinate all impacted systems, including:
- Manufacturing applications
- PLC logic and communications
- Historians, MES, OEE and reporting platforms
- ERP and external system interfaces
- Work cross-functionally with Automation, IT, OT, vendors and application owners to define, resource and schedule required changes
- Ensure PLC updates, configuration changes and infrastructure modifications are properly captured, reviewed and implemented
- Coordinate testing, validation and cutover activities while minimising production impact
- Manage dependencies, risks and constraints across multiple parallel workstreams
- Control change management processes including approvals, documentation and execution sequencing
- Act as the on-site coordination lead during implementation windows affecting live operations
- Ensure alignment with cybersecurity and compliance requirements (without owning technical security design)
- Maintain xcfaprz clear status reporting, action tracking and stakeholder communication
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to the development of repeatable standards for future segmentation rollouts
Required Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated project management experience within industrial, manufacturing, or automation environments
- Solid understanding of industrial control systems and OT network architecture
- Proven track record coordinating cross-functional teams across Automation, IT, OT and external vendors
- Experience delivering complex, site-based projects within live production settings
- Strong capability in planning, risk management, dependency mapping and structured change control
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and influence key stakeholders
