Senior Estimator

Senior Estimator Newry £60-70k

Our client based in Newry has an immediate requirement to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their team working on Fit-Out projects nationwide.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of tenders by researching and gathering all relevant information and win work by completing and submitting competitive tenders.

The Role

• Work closely with all areas of the business (including the contracts managers and site managers) ensuring the effective undertaking of estimating duties.
• Process initial inquiries and preparing tender submissions.
• Manage and control costs on projects and prepare cost value comparisons and projected final accounts.
• Review, approve, sign off weekly / monthly labour, sub-contractor and materials invoices / orders.
• Researching, sourcing and negotiating best quotes from subcontractors /suppliers.
• Liaising with key members of the project team and liaising with clients and subcontractors
• Prepare take offs and undertake estimates and final account settlements.
• Mark up enquiries to be sent out to the supply chain, organise bills of quantities production and obtain material quotes where necessary
• Monitor sub-contractor performance and record additional works for presentation to project teams.

What you need

• A higher-level qualification in Engineering or a construction related field
• 5+ years of Estimation experience
• Extensive experience in the Fit-Out sector
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
