Staff Nurse

Role Summary:

As a Staff Nurse, you will provide high‑quality nursing care, ensuring a safe and person‑centred approach in line with hospital policies and professional guidelines. You will collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team to support quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence‑based care to all patients.
  
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in collaboration with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
  
• Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of patient records.
  
• Administer medication and treatment as prescribed, adhering to hospital and NMBI guidelines.
  
• Promote infection prevention and control practices.
  
• Support new staff and student nurses through education and mentoring.
  
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to enhance patient safety and service delivery.
  

Essential Requirements:

• 
  
• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with An Bord Altranais / NMBI (active PIN).
  
• Minimum 1 year post‑registration experience in an acute hospital setting (Medical / Surgical / Theatre / Day Unit / HDU desirable).
  
• Excellent clinical, communication, and organisational skills.
  
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
  
• Eligibility to work in Ireland (EU passport or valid work permit).
  

Desirable Skills / Experience:

• 
  
• Previous experience in Medical, Surgical, Day Surgery, Oncology, Endoscopy, Orthopaedics, Theatre, or Cardiac Services.
  
• Post‑graduate qualification or ongoing study in a relevant specialty area.
  
• Strong teamwork ethos and patient advocacy mindset.
