Packaging Designer/Operations – Manufacturing

This role is based in West Cork

We are currently looking to recruit a Packaging Designer who has experience in the regulations and compliance of packaging related to recycling, based in West Cork. This is an opportunity to work with a manufacturing facility who specialise in the packaging sector.

They have recently secured a number of large international programs and this client is seeing major growth in demand for their products.

Working closely with Supply chain Manager and the manufacturing team, you will lend your expertise knowledge in the area or package design and estimation and advise the company on best practice and mitigate any current and future issues in this area. You will also have operational experience.

Within this role you will be involved in

• 
  
• Ensure understanding and implementation of relevant regulations and directives at both localised EU level and a global level
  
• Understand and monitor packaging declaration, packaging composition and packaging waste levels.
  
• Analyse non-conformity, and suggest the best way to rectify this problem
  
• Evaluation of packaging materials to ensure they adhere to performance criteria and regulatory guidelines.
  
• Ability to estimate costs related to packaging
  
• Conduct external audits regarding packaging regulations, compliance, directives.
  
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of packaging processes, materials, and designs based on research
  
• Manage an ERP system to monitor and track all packaging relate issues.
  

For this role you are required to have;

• 
  
• A min or 4 years packaging design
  
• Ideally you will have experience in a manufacturing environment.
  
• A self-starter and the ability to manage multiple projects as any given time.
  
• Experience with Microsoft Suit and in particular, Excel
  
• Experience with CAD
  
• Knowledge of EU and FDA regulations in relation to packaging.
  
• Have excellent computer skills and a knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word plus experience ERP systems. xcfaprz
