Server Engineer

We are partnering with a growing financial services organisation in Dublin to hire an experienced VMware & Windows Server Administrator. This role will sit within a secure, enterprise-scale infrastructure team, supporting core virtualisation and identity platforms in a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining platform stability, strengthening security controls, and driving continuous improvement across the infrastructure estate. This position also acts as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues.

• 
  
• Manage and optimise VMware environments (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi), including clusters, resource allocation, and high availability
  
• Administer Active Directory services including users, groups, GPOs, and domain controllers
  
• Support and maintain Windows Server environments to ensure performance, resilience, and security
  
• Act as escalation point for complex Level 2 infrastructure incidents
  
• Execute and document monthly control activities including patching, vulnerability management, system hardening, backup validation, and capacity reviews
  
• Support disaster recovery planning and recovery testing
  
• Drive remediation of technical debt and contribute to infrastructure improvement initiatives
  

• 
  
• 3–5 years’ experience in VMware and Windows Server administration
  
• Strong expertise in VMware (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi)
  
• Solid Active Directory and Group Policy experience

• Understanding of DNS, DHCP, and core networking fundamentals
  
• PowerShell scripting for automation and operational efficiency
  
• Experience working in a regulated or compliance-driven environment
  
• Working knowledge of ITIL practices
  
• Relevant certifications such as VCP or Microsoft certifications are advantageous.
