Senior Software Engineer I

LexisNexis Risk Solutions is the essential partner in the assessment of risk. Within our Insurance vertical, we provide customers with solutions and decision tools that combine public and industry‑specific content with advanced technology and analytics to assist them in evaluating and predicting risk and enhancing operational efficiency. We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our Java Platform development team. The ideal candidate is a strong technologist interested in taking our service architecture to the next level, building and deploying tools to support the rapid delivery of our products and services.

This position is performed by an experienced professional and will undertake difficult research, design and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line. The role provides direct input to project plans, schedules and methodology in the development of cross‑functional software products under the guidance of more senior members of the squad. The position performs software design across multiple components, mentors junior team members, and works with others to translate user and customer requests into solutions.

• Collaborate with technical team members to clarify and finalize requirements.
  
• Write and review detailed specifications for complex system components.
  
• Resolve complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  
• Support and guide continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices.
  
• Identify and help implement operational requirements for logging, instrumentation, and alerting.
  
• Work closely with development teams to translate requirements into software designs.
  
• Apply and promote best practices in coding, development processes, and code reviews.
  
• Operate effectively in various development environments (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  
• Mentor and support the growth of team members through knowledge sharing and pair programming.
  
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  
• Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, .NET, SQL, YAML, JSON, XML).
  
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, HELM) is desirable.
  
• Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
  
• Ability to work with various data storage systems.
  
• Strong research and problem‑solving skills.
  
• Commitment to continuous learning and applying industry best practices.
